The DeGregorio Family Foundation in partnership with the Torrey Coast Foundation is pleased to announce an RFA for up to $1 million regarding gastroesophageal cancer malignancies.
Request for Applications
The RFA is for high-impact projects up to $1 million. Projects evaluating novel targets, new approaches to validated targets, or new technology applied towards early detection and prevention are encouraged. The potential for patient impact will be prioritized. Completion date should be between 1 to 3 years. Grants may be supported in full or partially based on the aims of the project, impact, novelty and feasibility.
Funding – Up to $1 million over 1 to 3 years, including indirect costs – 15%.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be employed by a non-profit academic institution. Applications will be accepted from both U.S. and non-U.S. entities.
- No applications will be accepted from post-docs, or individuals without a faculty appointment.
- We encourage interdisciplinary collaborations and welcome proposals from independent investigators at all career stages, especially those new to the field of upper GI cancers.
- Proposals that include a clinical trial will require a clinical trial budget, and commitment for the study drug.
Other caveats:
- Please do not submit the same grant application to the DeGregorio Family Foundation as from a previous grant cycle unless the Foundation has specifically requested that you do so.
- Research projects must not be funded currently under a separate mechanism. Research projects are selected through a rigorous review process. The Foundation’s application review process is guided by its Scientific Advisory Board headed by Dr. Manish A. Shah.
