Mark Pilarski, 64, passed at home with family at his side on 14 May 2018 in Shelby Township, Michigan after bravely battling esophageal cancer for two years. His funeral service will be held Wednesday 16 May 2018 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Born in December 1953 in Poland, Mark moved with his family to Hamtramck, Michigan when he was 13. He met his loving wife, Maria Brzezinska, while visiting family back in Poland, and they wed on 14 July 1979. They raised two daughters, Magda and Monica. Mark put family ahead of everything else by working extra hours and nights to ensure that they had everything, including great educations. He took great pride in both of his daughters graduating from the University of Michigan, and leading on to have successful careers. Mark worked at Chrysler for 46 years, and in his spare time could be seen at the park walking his dog for hours on end.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; his children, Magda Pilarski and husband Stephen Wise, and Monica Pilarski and partner Jan Pieter Fokkens; two grandsons, Roman Wise and Marek Fokkens; and, his loyal dog, Meelo.
In lieu of flowers, donations to DeGregorio Family Foundation, PO Box 236, Pleasantville, NY 10570, a leading esophageal cancer research foundation, would be appreciated.
